Nizhnekamsk saw the kick-off of its first projects implemented under SIBUR’s Formula for Good Deeds

2 march 2022

Nizhnekamsk saw a launch of volunteering projects being carried out within the framework of SIBUR’s social investment program, the Formula for Good Deeds. Each employee of the company could suggest his or her own volunteering initiative and get financial support from the company.

Roza Zakirova, a leading sociologist at Nizhnekamskneftekhim PJSC, was among the winners of the company’s grants. Her project titled "Together with my mother" is designed to support children with disabilities and their parents. A number of events have been organized for special needs children. One of the master classes, entitled "Everyone can be creative!", was held at Children's Art School No. 1. The class was led by Sabina Ibragimova, a teacher of fine arts. Inessa Dudenkova and her "Pegasus Light Show " team put on a light show. The event was also attended by the volunteers of Nizhnekamskneftekhim, the Bars center, and the Nizhnekamsk branch of Timiryasov Kazan Innovative University (KIU). The children and their parents who attended the party made paintings on canvas, watched a light show, danced, and enjoyed tea with refreshments.

Our family really appreciates being able to take part in the interesting and creative drawing master class. Today we all became true artists. Thank you for this unique project, and thank you for your support! Alsu Sabirzyanova, a participant of the project and mother of a disabled child, commented.

Another event that turned out to be equally inspiring was a meeting with Nadezhda Semenova, a Nizhnekamsk veterinarian. The meeting was organized by Roza Zakirova, the mastermind behind the "Together with my mother" project, and a leading sociologist at Nizhnekamskneftekhim. The attendees of the meeting learned a lot of interesting facts about pets, including their behavior traits, training challenges ,and feeding habits. Children, in turn, could share stories about their own pets and ask questions. On the same day, volunteers gave a master class in soap-making, and conducted quest a game focusing on environmental issues.

Another event was held in Nizhnekamsk’s G. Tukai Central Library. Working together with volunteers from the Bars organization of volunteering enthusiasts and KIU students, the volunteers from the petrochemical facility set up creative classes for children with disabilities and for their parents. The project’s participants learned the basics of mandala crocheting, took part in a mini quiz about their homeland and learned many interesting and educational facts about the flags of Tatarstan’s various cities. After the class, everyone enjoyed a concert and had tea with refreshment.

We deliver our training both to children and to parents of special needs children. Now, we have them every week, and we see the change happening in attending mothers, and that is very inspiring, Roza Zakirova, a leading sociologist at the laboratory of sociological and psychological research and analysis, and a corporate volunteer of Nizhnekamskneftekhim PJSC, noted.

At the moment, there are 817 families with handicapped children living in Nizhnekamsk. The gatherings organized within the framework of the "Together with my mother" project will continue to be held through the middle of March. They are open to children with disabilities under 18 and to their parents. The initiative’s objective is to provide support to and help build harmonious relationships between parents and their children.
