The Children's Ecological and Biological Centre of the Nizhnekamsk Municipal District of the Republic of Tatarstan, with grant support from SIBUR's "Formula for Good Deeds" social investment programme, successfully implemented the project "ECOFEST Generation ECO". The event brought together residents of different ages for an open dialogue on the sustainable development of an industrial city and the personal responsibility of every citizen for the environmental safety of their area. </p> <p> More than 600 residents of Nizhnekamsk attended the festival, including pre-school children with their parents, schoolchildren, students and young professionals. During the event, more than 500 participants took part in specialised interactive stations and masterclasses, where they learned practical skills in separate waste collection and the reuse of household waste. The programme covered many areas: from the educational game "Waste Signs" and the sports relay race "Eco-Wheel", promoting bicycles and scooters as environmentally friendly transport, to the "Eco-Tourist" zone, where participants learned how to properly organise outdoor recreation, pack a hiking backpack and safely use camping equipment. Particular interest was generated by the mobile environmental laboratory of Nizhnekamskneftekhim PJSC, which demonstrated real-time methods for collecting and analysing urban air. </p> <p> An important part of the festival was an environmental campaign to collect recyclable materials, in which local residents actively participated. Together, they managed to collect 500 kilograms of materials for recycling. Creative and scientific zones also operated in parallel. Children painted reusable shopping bags, learned to photograph flora and fauna under the guidance of a professional, and young naturalists studied insects under microscopes.
