Whee, we just paid a visit to our furry friends!

19 july 2022

On the weekend, we once again visited the Nekrasovka shelter for stray animals located in a Moscow suburb. This time our group was smaller in size, but our impressions from the visit were, as always, first-rate!

This was the first time my daughter and I took part in the visit. It wasn't easy for us to decide to go. We were afraid that it would be taxing emotionally. But, after interacting with the animals, the feeling we were left with was that of warmth: the animals don’t need much, just a bit of attention and human warmth. We can make their lives a tad happier. I really want each dog there to find a home of its own and a loving human companion. We look forward to going back there again! Natalia Fedotova, chief specialist, Administrative Support for Managers, SIBUR LLC, a volunteer, noted.

This was my first volunteering visit to a shelter for stray animals. When I saw the notice on CLICK, I signed up right away. I really liked the experience and would look forward to joining future visits like this! I loved all of the activities that I was involved in including walking the dogs, feeding and grooming them. In the visit’s aftermath, I felt filled with new energy and a sense of being involved in a really good cause! Almira Baiguskarova, expert, Sustainable Development, SIBUR LLC, a volunteer, commented.

Of the things that I saw during the visit, what I found particularly memorable, was the enormous contribution made by the shelter's regular volunteers! Even a bit of one’s personal and occasional input is very important because it helps provide respite to the shelter’s regular staff. Thanks a lot for organizing the visit, and for a fulfilling and fun-filled weekend, Olga Avvakivi, Senior Manager, Management Accounting and Business Planning, SIBUR LLC, a volunteer, shared.

In the course of the four hours that we spent there, we helped walk, groom and feed some 70 dogs who live in the shelter sector eight. And of course, we spent all this time interacting with the animals, petting them and taking pictures for posterity.

On behalf of the Formula for Good Deeds program, we are sending our warm words of thanks to Ksenia Kosheleva, the campaign’s supervisor, for her caring attitude she demonstrated in the process of organizing and implementing campaigns designed to help homeless animals!

We are also deeply thankful to all of our colleagues and friends who took part in collecting gifts for the shelter and who managed to show up in person to help the animals: Olga Avvakivi, Yekaterina Atlasova, Almira Baiguskarova, Svetlana Vladimirkina, Svetlana Danilova, Alfiya Iskakova, Darya Kokorina, Valeria Remizova, Natalia Fedotova and her daughter Kristina, and Alexander Shlapak!

The shelter is home to some three thousand dogs and cats who need our help on a daily basis.
There are many ways one can help these animals! Here are the top 3 things on our list:

1. Donate food or other items from
this list. You can put your donations in the Help the Dogs and Cats box set up at the entrance to Building 16/3, next to the cloakroom.

2. Help with maintenance and repair work. We are actively looking for men who know construction and are willing to help with repairing animal pens, with building a tool storage shed and installing a fence for the enclosure to be used for walking older dogs. We will provide the materials and many, many words of thanks!

3. Adopting a dog or cat from the shelter. If you or your friends are looking for an animal companion, you can find one on the shelter's pages on such social networks as
Vkontakte or Telegram.

If, after reading this, your heart skipped a beat and you feel that you are ready to help these animals, please let our supervisor Ksenia Kosheleva know about this by sending her a message at: KoshelevaKO@sibur.ru.
