15 days left before the start of the extreme "Character of Steel" race in Tomsk

On June 26, Tomsk will be hosting the extreme "Character of Steel " race for third time using the Kedr Sports Center as its base. Nearly 2,000 people have already signed up for the race. The list of participants includes not only residents of Tomsk itself, but also guests from other cities such as Tyumen, Surgut, Omsk, Nizhnevartovsk, Novy Urengoy, Noyabrsk, and others.

The event’s organizers have prepared 4 obstacle courses of varying complexity for its participants. The longest distance course (9 km) will comprise more than 20 obstacles, some of them being introduced for the first time. These obstacles may be passed both individually and as a team.

SIBUR has been involved in implementing many diverse athletic initiatives, of which the Character of Steel Race is one of the most anticipated. It is fairly popular among our younger residents: about 5,000 people in Tomsk participated in it in 2018 and 2019, Vladimir Pleshkov, General Director of Tomskneftekhim (SIBUR's Tomsk facility) commented. By promoting such projects, the company has been able to contribute to nurturing the culture of fitness not only among SIBUR’s own employees. It is an important and proper approach to promoting a healthy and active lifestyle, which also helps build the team spirit.

The "Character of Steel " project is implemented by the Foundation for Promoting Sports with the assistance of SIBUR as part of its Formula for Good Deeds social investment program and with the support of Tomsk City Administration.

Following the race in Tomsk, the Character of Steel races will be held in Omsk, as well as in other cities where SIBUR has a presence including Tyumen, Tobolsk, Perm, Ufa, Nizhny Novgorod, Moscow and Krasnodar.
