Volunteering projects’ contest received over 60 applications entered by SIBUR’s employees

29 november 2021

Moscow, November 29, 2021 – SIBUR has stopped accepting applications for its 8th contest of employees’ volunteering projects conducted under the auspices of the Formula for Good Deeds social investment program. More than 60 initiatives from 16 cities will be vying for winning the contest.

At the request of past contests’ participants, a series of training webinars were held as applications continued coming in. In the course of their online sessions, experts and partners of the Formula for Good Deeds described key contest terms and conditions, shared their recommendations on completing contest applications and best urban and environmental volunteering practices.

Many thanks for organizing these online events and for inspiring us to do more good together with our Company, and for the fascinating real-life cases that only prove that one shouldn’t be afraid, you just need to make a decision and act! It was really important for me to hear that and, what's equally important, feel it, Oxana Ovdiyenko, an automation engineer with Yuzhno-Balykskiy GPP, a branch of JSC SiburTyumenGaz, commented.

According to the admission campaign’s tally, the greatest number of applications came from Nizhnekamskneftekhim (Republic of Tatarstan). This was the first time our SIBUR colleagues participated in the contest and showed great interest in corporate volunteering by entering 18 projects seeking to effect positive change in their city.

Most of SIBUR employees’ projects focus on addressing environmental and social challenges. Projects submitted under the Environmental Protection category (35%) traditionally included voluntary cleanup subbotniks, separate waste collection and recycling campaigns, help for homeless animals.

The projects filed under the Social Protection category (35%) included projects seeking to help families in distress, children, the elderly, and people with disabilities.

One fifth of all projects (20%) were dedicated to improving and beautifying the urban environment. These included: volunteering campaigns for greening and re-landscaping urban outdoor areas, installation of comfortable children's playgrounds and recreation areas for residents. The rest of the projects (10%) will be considered under the headings of "We are Together" and "Proprietary Projects".

The team of the Formula for Good Deeds program is currently processing all contest entries, with the contest jury scheduled to start their evaluation on December 1. The jury consists of SIBUR experts and heads of regional non-profit organizations.

The contest’s winners will be named by December 15, 2021, on the Formula for Good Deeds program’s website under the "News" section at
