In Blagoveshchensk, Republic of Bashkortostan, a volunteer campaign took place to improve the natural area of Bolshoy Island, located in the floodplain of the Belaya River. The initiative brought together approximately 80 participants: employees of POLIEF JSC and students of the Blagoveshchensk Multidisciplinary Professional College. The event was organised as part of the "Living Symbols of SIBUR" environmental project, with the support of the company's "Formula for Good Deeds" social investment programme.
</p>
<p>
Participants were divided into small groups to effectively cover the area. The main task of the volunteers was to clean the natural area around the ecological trail "Visiting Agidel" and tidy up the route. Participants collected litter and cleared the trail of unwanted weeds. The ecological trail is located on Bolshoy Island – a natural area close to the city's infrastructure, intended for family recreation and educational excursions.

<b>Vasily Igoshev, Chief Engineer of POLIEF JSC:</b><br>
<i>"The improvement of natural areas such as Bolshoy Island is an important contribution to the quality of life in our city. It is especially symbolic for us to carry out this environmental initiative on the eve of our professional holidays – Chemist's Day and Ecologist's Day. We are convinced that modern production is inextricably linked with responsibility for the environment. It is pleasing to see that students have joined us: together we are not only doing a concrete good deed, but also building a culture of caring for nature."</i>
</p>
<p>
The "Living Symbols of SIBUR" project is aimed at preserving the biological diversity of Red Data Book animal species and is implemented in close cooperation with the scientific community and environmental organisations. Volunteer campaigns within the project are one way of drawing the attention of residents in the regions where SIBUR operates to endangered animal species and the value of natural areas.

<b>Regina Sitdikova, Specialist at the Project Office "Target Initiatives" of POLIEF JSC:</b><br>
<i>"I want to express my huge gratitude to the organisers of this event. The rain that was forecast never dared to get in our way – the weather was on our side. In a cheerful and friendly company, we did a great good deed: we tidied up the island's territory and improved the trail. And the gifted merchandise is simply wonderful: very beautiful and thought out down to the smallest detail. We will eagerly wait for you to come again to our wonderful Blagoveshchensk."</i>

<p>
The environmental agenda is an integral part of SIBUR's ESG strategy, which includes both the implementation of specialised programmes and the involvement of employees in volunteer initiatives. The company views sustainable development as a strategic task focused on the well-being of people and the preservation of natural resources.

<p>
Such campaigns strengthen environmental culture in the corporate environment and highlight the importance of personal involvement in solving environmental challenges.
