The Tobolsk Forest Project will support environmental volunteering across school forestry teams

15 september 2021

SIBUR is launching its first contest of the best environmental campaigns in Tyumen Oblast! The contest is being held as part of the Tobolsk Forest project implemented under SIBUR's Formula for Good Deeds social investment program together with Tyumen Oblast’s Forestry Department.

One can enter the contest by presenting their previously implemented forest conservation and restoration campaigns and stand a chance of receiving a grant of up to RUB 20,000 to be used for the development of relevant activities of schools and school forestry teams.

As part of the Tobolsk Forest Project, we come up with new formats every year to get the local residents involved in the environmental agenda and in taking care of the region's forests. In our work, we make a special emphasis on working with school students. This contest seeks to support volunteering at schools and school forestry teams of Tyumen Oblast and to involve as many children as possible in conservation efforts. We wish good luck to all the participants! Elena Belskaya, head of the Department of Government Relations and Implementation of Socio-Economic Projects at ZapSibNeftekhim LLC, noted.

Further details about the contest are available at this link. Entries will be accepted through October 5.

SIBUR has been actively interacting with our region’s school forestry teams under a cooperation agreement signed with our Department in 2020. For the second year in a row, grant contests of schoolchildren’s practical and research projects have been held while school forestry teams have been participating in sapling planting campaigns. We are pleased to witness the launch of a new contest aimed at helping students develop initiatives and projects to preserve and restore our forests. We hope this will be well responded to by our teachers and schoolchildren, Leonid Ostroumov, Director of Tyumen Oblast’s Forestry Department, commented.

If you have any questions about participating in the contest, please contact the contest’s coordinator at

We look forward to receiving your applications and wish you the best of luck!
