The Recycling Workshop launched #Icleanmycity, a nationwide environmental contest for children and teenagers

12 august 2022

The Recycling Workshop project, implemented as part of SIBUR's Formula for Good Deeds social investment program, is inviting all children and teenagers to take part in its nationwide environmental contest, #Icleanmycity. The contest’s focus is on separate collection and recycling of waste, something schoolchildren from the whole of Russia can take part in.

The contest will consist of competitions in four different categories. Children aged 7 to 13 will be offered to draw posters and pictures with a focus on environmental themes, or write stories, poems and essays on these topics. Teenagers aged 14 to 17 will be asked to develop environment-themed research projects, or implement their own video and photo projects.

Applications to enter in the contest will be accepted until September 12, 2022 on the Recycling Workshop’s website at workshop-recycle.ru. All completed projects will be evaluated by a Council of Experts, made up of the contest’s organizers, SIBUR Holding’s employees and various subject matter experts. Submitted entries will be evaluated in terms of their uniqueness and environmental focus, creativity and originality of the underlying concept, their social and advocacy reach, and other criteria. The winning entries will be rewarded with souvenirs and memorable gifts, while all participants will be emailed electronic certificates of participation.

The contest’s winners and runners-up will be announced on the contest’s official website and in the Recycling Workshop’s group on VKontakte on October 3, 2022. The contest’s statute is available for study and review on the project’s official website.

The #Icleanmycity contest is being held for the second time. Last year's contest was joined by 7,000 schoolchildren from 80 regions of the Russian Federation. The aim of the contest is to help schoolchildren develop a responsible attitude towards the environment at a young age, to draw their attention to the importance of responsible waste management for the benefit of the future of our planet, as well as to help children fulfill their creative potential.
