Corporate Volunteers of Yugra Discuss Joint Activities for 2025

A meeting of the regional chapter of the National Corporate Volunteering Council (NCVC) in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug – Yugra was held in Surgut, supported by SIBUR’s Formula for Good Deeds social investment program, and the Yugra branch of Sberbank.

The meeting brought together representatives of 17 organizations from Kogalym, Megion, Nizhnevartovsk, Pyt-Yakh, Surgut, and Khanty-Mansiysk. The participants’ lineup included: Gazprom Transgas Surgut, ZapSibTransGas, MTS, the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug – Yugra Branch of the Social Fund of Russia, Russian Post, Rosseti Tyumen, Rostelecom, SiburTyumenGas, Surgutneftegas, Surgutneftegasobank, Surgutskaya State Power Plant GRES-2, the Yugra branch of Sberbank, the Center for Civic and Social Initiatives of Yugra, as well as representatives of local non-profits and community organizations.

“We are excited to launch our very first NCVC volunteering season in Yugra! For this meeting’s agenda, we intentionally included a foresight session with our participants so that together we could come up with ideas for volunteer initiatives and develop a plan to implement them this year. We cordially welcome all interested colleagues to join our efforts and become a part of our good deeds!”

The meeting started with the signing of a cooperation agreement between the regional NCVC office and the Yugra branch of Sberbank. This agreement will enable the council’s new member to suggest volunteering initiatives and provide support to, and promote further development of, corporate volunteering in the region.

Our Yugra branch employs more than 1,000 people who are involved in implementing volunteering projects helping children and seniors, taking care of nature and animals, preserving our heritage and traditions. The Yugra branch of Sberbank is committed to supporting volunteer initiatives and is ready to continue working together for the benefit of society.”

The meeting’s participants also discussed initiatives that the Council wants to implement in 2025, including: compiling a collection of Yugra's best volunteering practices, carrying out at least three joint socially impactful campaigns, volunteering at public cultural events, providing consulting and methodological support, facilitating experience-sharing between companies, recognizing the most active volunteers.

Sberbank's Ural branch held a three-hour-long foresight session for the participants to develop volunteer initiatives. The most popular proposals included environmental cleanups at banks of waterways and saving trees marked for felling, events commemorating the 80th anniversary of Victory Day, as well as career guidance sessions for school students. All these initiatives will be implemented by regional NCVC members in 2025.

Background:

The National Corporate Volunteering Council’s regional chapter in Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug-Yugra was established in 2024 thanks to the efforts of SIBUR and the Yugra Center for Civil and Social Initiatives Foundation to coordinate socially impactful initiatives implemented by large businesses, SMEs, non-profits, volunteering centers, and other stakeholders.
