SIBUR begins accepting applications for grant contests run under auspices of the Formula for Good Deeds social investment program

8 september 2021

As part of its Formula for Good Deeds social investment program, SIBUR has launched its grant and interregional projects contests. Applications in an electronic format will be accepted through October 24, 2021 at the program’s website.

The goal of the grant contest for non-profit organizations and state-funded institutions is to support creative projects that are to be implemented by state-funded and non-profit organizations in the 15 cities where the company operates. Contest entries have to match one or several of the focus areas of the Formula for Good Deeds program including urban development, education, sports, environmental protection, and volunteering. A project’s potential for its further evolution in the format of a private entrepreneurial initiative will be considered as an additional asset.

The contest of interregional projects is open to projects and programs that can be implemented in two or more cities or regions where SIBUR operates. Non-profit organizations, welfare institutions and for-profit companies with experience in the social sphere are invited to submit their entries to the contest. A new requirement introduced in 2021 calls for a submittal of a detailed description of expected outcome for each focus area in the format of terms of reference.

Changes have also been made to the requirements as to the content of applications. Due to the ongoing epidemiological situation that continues to remain uncertain, application entries need to lay out a plan for altering the project in the event tougher anti-COVID measures are introduced including various restrictions.

The projects that got implemented in 2021 have shown that our grantees and the program as a whole have successfully adapted to the challenges of the new reality. Despite the wavelike nature of emerging challenges, together with the program participants we have managed not only to maintain our current positions, but to even strengthen them further by additionally bringing Amur Oblast’s cities into the fold of the Formula for Good Deeds program. As we start accepting applications for the contests this year, we expect to see even more caring people and organizations that will be able to transform the social fabric around them with our help, Alexey Kozlov, SIBUR’s Board Member and Managing Director, emphasized.

The winners will be selected by a jury consisting of SIBUR employees, representatives of state authorities and public welfare experts in various areas. Tobolsk will traditionally organize an open vote for grant projects that have a high degree of significance for the city.

The current contest regulations have been published on the program's web site. In the fall of 2021, a series of webinars and educational newsletters aimed at improving project management skills of the program’s participants will be offered.

Questions concerning the details of participating in the contest should be directed to the program’s coordinators via email at grant@formula-hd.ru - regarding the grant contest, and at project@formula-hd.ru regarding the interregional projects contest.
