Volunteers of Nizhnekamskneftekhim planted 70 young birch trees in the new park "Ak Kayen". The event took place with the support of SIBUR's "Formula for Good Deeds" social investment programme.
</p>
<p style="color: #0f1115;">
The decorative birch trees arrived in Nizhnekamsk from a nursery in Krasnodar. The "Jungi" variety (silver birch) is unpretentious, takes root well and grows to no more than five metres in height – which is fundamentally important for preserving the character of the area.
</p>
<p style="color: #0f1115;">
The birches in the city's new public space have become another chapter in SIBUR's "green book" in Nizhnekamsk.
</p>
<p style="color: #0f1115;">
<span style="font-weight: 600;">Elvira Dolotkazina, Manager of Government Relations Department at Nizhnekamskneftekhim:</span><br>
<em>"The company pays great attention to creating a comfortable urban environment. We plant trees in Nizhnekamsk almost every year – both as part of campaigns and in large mass plantings. The city already has a cedar grove, a lilac garden, and last year we established a rowan garden. This year – Ak Kayen park. In total, we have already planted more than 800,000 trees, and soon, I think, we will approach a million."</em>
</p>
<p style="color: #0f1115;">
<span style="font-weight: 600;">Raihan Hazrat Nazmutdinov, Imam-Khatib of the mosque:</span><br>
<em>"We specifically chose low-growing birches so that the mosque would be visible from the park. The name 'Ak Kayen' translates as 'white birch' – the choice was obvious."</em>
</p>
<p style="color: #0f1115;">
<span style="font-weight: 600;">Khamza Bagmanov, Chairman of the Public Council of Nizhnekamsk Municipal District:</span><br>
<em>"I am pleased to welcome yet another good deed by SIBUR. It is wonderful that volunteers came with their children. I think they will grow up together with these birches and remember this day."</em>
</p>
<p style="color: #0f1115;">
Amid the birch trees, children's laughter could be heard regularly. <span style="font-weight: 600;">Lilia Vafina, Expert of the Budget Control Department at Nizhnekamskneftekhim,</span> came to the event with her sons Islam and Nariman. This was not the family's first such experience – they have previously planted cedars and lilacs, taken part in the "Eco-Family" competition, and helped large families and animal shelters.

Through such campaigns, Nizhnekamskneftekhim is building a sustainable ecological culture in the city, engaging residents and employees in eco-volunteering, education and practical environmental initiatives. During the time of the "Green Formula" programme since 2022, about 800,000 trees and shrubs have been planted, with a further more than 3,000 trees and shrubs planted as part of the city's landscaping programme, and the first lilac garden in the Volga region has been created.
