26 Yugra Organizations Join Regional Branch of National Corporate Volunteering Council in 2025

The regional branch of the National Corporate Volunteering Council in Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug–Yugra (hereinafter, NCVC in Yugra) held its year-end meeting in Nizhnevartovsk on November 29, hosted at the headquarters of SiburTyumenGas and Zapsibtransgas. More than 40 leaders of corporate volunteering programs from across the region, alongside experts from non-profits, as well as volunteering and community groups, gathered to review their first year of collaboration, honor 19 standout activists and partners, and set the agenda for 2026. The event was supported by SIBUR's Formula for Good Deeds social investment program.

General directors of the hosting companies opened the meeting with their opening remarks.

Alexander Olifirenko, General Director of SiburTyumenGas:
"Corporate volunteering is an investment in our future where progress will be driven by social responsibility and green initiatives. Here in KhMAO, traditions of volunteering are matched by our industrial capabilities. Having leaders from so many sectors in one meeting is a unique chance to combine business, non-profit, and government experience for the sake of dealing with relevant social issues. By acting together, we can achieve more, and SiburTyumenGas is committed to playing an active role in advancing this cause."

Oleg Romanov, General Director of Zapsibtransgas:
"The NCVC in Yugra has let us learn from others' successful experience, join our hands, and deliver even greater positive impact. We've cleaned up the Ob River bank at Stary Vartovsk, had a successful launch of Nizhnevartovsk's first inclusive A City Open to All festival, joined several of the volunteering campaigns initiated by local social welfare institutions, and found new partners for growth. I’d like to thank everyone for playing such an active role. Let's keep up this spirit of genuine support and carry on effecting positive change."

Elena Snezhko, Head of SIBUR's Formula for Good Deeds program and Chair of the NCVC's regional branches in Amur Oblast and KhMAO–Yugra, presented the organization’s annual report. Twenty-six companies and associations of volunteers from Kogalym, Megion, Nyagan, Pyt-Yakh, Surgut, Nizhnevartovsk, and Khanty-Mansiysk took part in the branch's activities throughout the year. New participants included X5’s Vyruchayem (We’re helping out) Charitable Foundation, Gazprom transgas Surgut, MTS, the KhMAO–Yugra Branch of the Social Fund of Russia, Russian Post, Rosseti Tyumen, Rostelecom, Surgutneftegas, Surgutneftegasbank, Unipro, Uniresta (a ROSTIC'S brand), and others.

A noteworthy early-year initiative was a foresight session co-hosted together with Sberbank's Yugra Branch for 17 organizations from six cities in Yugra, which resulted in drawing up plans for 15 volunteering campaigns. Two of those were completed this year including a cleanup of the Ob River bank and a stained-glass mosaic master class held for 20 individuals with disabilities at the Inclusive Scarlet Sails Center.

I really appreciate your sense of responsibility and your readiness to support kind initiatives that benefit the region and its inhabitants. Let’s keep this momentum going in 2026 so that we can do even more good."

This year, the region’s corporate volunteering community also partnered with the inaugural A City Open to All inclusive festival in Nizhnevartovsk, helping to recruit 20 volunteers for organizing and conducting this city-wide event.

A compendium of the branch’s corporate volunteering practices was presented at the 14th International Corporate Volunteering Forum in Moscow. It features Yugra team’s 12 practices spanning across several areas of focus including aid to vulnerable groups, environmental stewardship efforts, community improvement projects, and caring for stray animals along with first-hand accounts and practical tips from volunteers in Nizhnevartovsk, Nyagan, and Surgut, in a bid to inspire others to come up with their own charitable projects and initiatives. New members of the branch, including Elena Imakayeva (Director, Navigator Dobra Center, Kogalym), Anna Kirichenko (Lead Engineer, Gazprom transgas Surgut), Stanislav Lazurko (Chair, Khanty-Mansiysk branch of the All-Russian Association of the Deaf), Arkady Serebrennikov (Deputy Department Head, Head of Section at Social Fund of Russia in KhMAO–Yugra), and Tatyana Solomennikova (Director of Corporate Business at Surgutneftegasbank), shared their insights into corporate volunteering.

The meeting also took note of the contribution made by 19 active participants and partners from ten organizations, including Nizhnevartovsk’s City Administration, Gazprom transgas Surgut, Zapsibtransgas, the KhMAO-Yugra branch of the Social Fund of Russia, the Yugra branch of Russian Post, Sberbank's Yugra Branch, SiburTyumenGas, a local trade union branch at SiburTyumenGas, the Abilympics Volunteering Center at Nizhnevartovsk Social and Humanitarian College, and the Sibirskiye Uvaly Nature Park.

Looking ahead, the meeting discussed plans for 2026 that include continuing support for people in crisis and people with disabilities, taking part in environmental cleanups and recycling campaigns, and engaging corporate volunteers in supporting major public celebrations and festivals. New initiatives will involve launching joint volunteering campaigns under the auspices of the NCVC that would allow for remote participation.

"Today’s meeting offered us a great opportunity to learn about the experiences of our new fellow members and finetune our vision for 2026. Reviewing our progress together was useful. To me personally, the year’s most memorable event was the pre-New Year workshop held at the inclusive Scarlet Sails Center. My wish for the new year is that we follow through on all of our discussions while staying focused on the people whom we help and on the volunteers who help make it all happen, and not just the paperwork or formal accomplishments."

Alexandra Nurieva, Co-founder and Board Chair of the Dai Lapu stray animal welfare movement in KhMAO–Yugra:
"Thanks a lot for the invitation to learn about the NCVC's work. Events like this help non-profits better see how they can support and engage with business-led volunteering initiatives. This helps pave the way for successful partnerships. I was particularly encouraged by the plans to grow our partnership network—we hope to be part of it—and by the idea of holding a food festival, which has long been a personal dream of mine. I'd be delighted to help make this a reality."
