The Council’s 2024 activities were supported by 26 companies and non-profit groups of volunteers representing Blagoveshchensk, Belogorsk, Svobodny, and Tsiolkovsky. They were also joined by representatives of Gazprombank, Gazpromtrans, Russian Post, G.M. Fadeev Svobodnenskaya Children’s Railway, as well as Amur Oblast’s Resource Center for Advancing Volunteering. Working together with the Government of Amur Oblast, the Council organized the 2nd Forum of Corporate Volunteers held under the motto of </span><a href="https://www.formula-hd.ru/news/vtoroy-forum-korporativnykh-volonterov-amurskoy-oblasti-sobral-v-svobodnom-bolee-120-liderov-volonte/"><span style="color: #3c9091; background: white;">"Common Values in an Era of Change: Preserve and Multiply".</span></a><span style="color: #575757; background: white;"> The forum brought together more than 120 volunteers, of whom six were presented with letters of commendation signed <b>Vasily Orlov,</b> the Governor of Amur Oblast. TV presenter and eco-blogger <b>Irena Ponaroshku</b> joined the Forum as its inspirational speaker.</span> </p> <p> <span style="color: #575757; background: white;">In all, more than six hundred Amur Oblast’s residents had taken part in various corporate volunteering activities organized and supported by the regional NCVC office. Some of the highlights included volunteering campaigns to support elderly wards of the <i>Lada</i> Comprehensive Community Services Center, assistance to homeless animals cared for by <i>Do Good</i>, Svobodny’s non-profit organization for the protection of animals, monthly citywide <i>Separate Waste Collection</i> campaigns, and a festival of ice postcards <i>Miracles on Ice</i>. Work is also going to be performed in several new areas of focus including campaigns seeking to help children in distress and teambuilding activities for teams of volunteers.

Once you become a volunteer, you start realizing that it is more challenging to help other when you are acting alone. We joined the Amur Office of the NCVC in order to be able to act in a more concerted fashion, to share our experience with corporate volunteers from other organizations in the region, and provide quality assistance to those who need it. We look forward to getting engaged in a truly fruitful cooperation."

Background:

The Amur Office of the National Corporate Volunteering Council was established in 2021 with the participation of SIBUR and the Government of Amur Oblast in order to combine
and align the efforts of companies, volunteering centers and non-profit organizations for the purpose of advancing the best volunteering practices in the region.

Geographically, the office is made up of representatives of 26 companies and volunteering centers from Blagoveshchensk, Belogorsk, Svobodny, Tsiolkovsky, and other districts of Amur Oblast, including Amur Gas Chemical Complex, NIPIGAZ, Otkritiye Bank, Gazprombank, Gazpromtrans, Gazprom Pererabotka Blagoveshchensk, Gazprom Transgaz Tomsk’s Pipeline Operations Department in Svobodny, MTS, Amur Oblast’s Regional Branch of the Social Fund of Russia, Russian Post, Amur Oblast’s Rosreyestr Office, Belogorsk Locomotive Depot (a part of Russian Railways), Sberbank, Philip Morris Sales & Marketing, Vostochny Cosmodrome, as well as experts from local volunteering and resource centers and charitable foundations.
